Daisy doesn’t like cartoon animals. One way this presents itself is through her refusal to watch Disney films. She’s just not interested. She doesn’t like the way they wear clothes, she says, or talk. For some reason, I didn’t believe her so, one day, when she ran off down the garden with my hat, I followed her. I had a suspicion she was going to try it on – but, instead, she was eating it. I said, Daisy! You don’t need to eat my hat to make your point! She didn’t look up. If I eat your hat, she grumbled, that’s one less animal that can be dressed up like a human. I didn’t know if she meant her or me.
